Grand Western Canal & Country Park

The canal is situated between Tiverton and Holcombe Rogus and stretches for 11½ miles with a towpath enabling canal-side walks and cycling right along the route.  An alternative means of transport is by horse-drawn barges – available from Tiverton.

Bickleigh Mill & Castle

The castle is set amidst woods within the valley of the River Exe and Bickleigh Mill is also close by on the riverside. A working water wheel, restaurant, waterside tea garden, farm shop and a pottery can all be found here. Take a look to see more

The West Somerset Railway

This railway travels from Bishops Lydeard (near Tau nton) to Minehead through the beautiful Somerset countryside and coastline.  At 20 miles long its Britain’s longest heritage line

Cothay Manor & Gardens

Hidden for centuries it has remained virtually untouched since it was built in 1480. Said to be the finest example of a small classic medieval manor house remaining in the kingdom today. Recently featured on Channel 4’s County House Rescue.

Wimbleball Lake

Located on the eastern edge of Exmoor, with nearly 400 acres of water it has something for everyone: walking; fishing; sailing; cycling or just relaxing with a cream tea enjoying the views.

National Trust Knightshayes Court & Gardens

A 19th century mansion built for Sir John Heathcoat-Amory. It features rich gothic-style decorations and beautiful formal grounds, woodlands and ornamental shrubs.
