Staple Cross Cottage is set in a peaceful country hamlet with an old village Inn yet is easily accessible from the M5 & Tiverton Parkway Station (that has direct services from London, Exeter, Plymouth & Bristol).
Directions from the M5:
Approaching from the West: M5 J27 (approx. 5 miles away from the cottage): take the A361 towards Tiverton and then the first exit to Sampford Peverell roundabout. Take the right signed to Holcombe Rogus. After just over a mile (after passing the signs to Uplowman) take the fork left to Staple Cross (the sign may be missing here), continue for approx. ¾ mile then turn right at a T-junction. After another 1½ miles take another right at the T-junction to Staple Cross. Staple Cross is approx. ½ mile along this road and you will see Staple Cross Inn on your right at the crossroads. Turn right and Staple Cross Cottage is just after the Inn, on the right.
Approaching from the East: M5 J26 (approx. 9 miles from the cottage): take the Wellington/Ford Street turning at the roundabout and continue for ¾ mile to the roundabouts signed to Exeter on the A38. After 2¾ miles bear left at the Perry Elm roundabout, continuing on the A38 for approx 2 miles. Not too far past the Beambridge Inn and Whiteball sign, take the right turn off the dual carriageway signposted to Holcombe Rogus. Go through Holcombe Rogus (sat. nav. often sends you to the right) and continue on the same road up the hill for approx 2 miles and through Hockworthy and another steep hill. Drive past the crossroads sign just before the arched trees that take you down to Staple Cross where you will find Staple Cross Cottage on your left.
